Postpartum doula support fills the gap in our society of “the village” we often don’t have to support us after a new baby is born. Providing information, guidance, and hands on support in feeding the baby, caring for the baby, and supporting the baby in healthy sleep.  Providing emotional, social, and physical support for parents as they navigate either healing from birth or supporting a birthing partner in their recovery can ease the weight and worry from this period.

I’ve been working hands on with babies for over 20 years, with 8 years experience in the field of postpartum work.  I am passionate about empowering new parents in their roles and helping them feel confident in their parenting choices. I work with families of all sizes, shapes, and flavors.  I believe in inclusive care for all families.

As an experienced postpartum doula I specialize in:

-Newborn twins and preterm birth

-Feeding support

-Infant care

-Attachment Parenting

-Elimination Communication (EC)

-Gentle postpartum activity and yoga

-Self care, meditation and mindfulness

-Birth processing

-Nutrition for the postpartum body

-Belly binding for recovery and pelvic floor support

-Gentle sleep teaching, and overnight care

-Ceremony for balancing and “closing” energy fields opened by birth

-Coaching and instruction for partners

Postpartum doula support gives parents time to recover as well as provides resources for information on breastfeeding, maternal mental health, community resources, and guidance on typical infant care. It can be a huge benefit for both parents and babies.  This is a time to honor the changes taking place, to support physical health, and give time for the family to settle into their new roles.

No matter whether you’d like to schedule one night of sleep for respite recovery, or you’d like to schedule daily or nightly care, I can provide support to handle your specialized needs. In some cases, employing a team of support is the best way to provide extended care. Having the support of an experienced, caring team can be the mental and emotional assurance you need for your postpartum recovery to be easier and more manageable.  My team and I can take care of your new bundle at night and give you the tools during the day so you can get some restful sleep and have the physical support to aid in the mental and physical coping that is so essential in those first few weeks.
